Why You Should Consecrate Your Home to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Bring Peace to Your Home
Can you tell me how many promises Jesus made directly to you?
It was 12 - They are called the 12 Promises
The 9th Promise that Jesus told St. Margaret Mary in 1673 was that He would bless the homes that exposed His Sacred Heart image in a place of honor in their homes.
When consecrating your home to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, what you receive is tangible and measurable. It is peace and love. In every Eucharistic Prayer, Jesus promises you his peace and his love.
Once you begin reciting the rosary together as a family, we suggest that you offer an intercessory prayer for each other to generate peace and love in your family. An intercessory prayer is where you pray for another family member's health, safety, understanding, or forgiveness. Remember, Jesus was all about forgiveness to give you peace. When you forgive someone, you release negative feelings you are clinging onto, preventing yourself from getting peace. Forgive, and receive the peace Jesus promises you.

The Domestic Church (from the Catechism of the Catholic Church)
1655:
Christ chose to be born and grow up in the bosom of the holy family of Joseph and Mary. The Church is nothing other than "the family of God." From the beginning, the core of the Church was often constituted by those who had become believers "together with all [their] household." [Cf. Acts 18:8] When they were converted, they desired that "their whole household" should also be saved.
1656: In our own time, in a world often alien and even hostile to faith, believing families are of primary importance as centers of living, radiant faith. For this reason the Second Vatican Council, using an ancient expression, calls
the family the Ecclesia domestica. [LG 11; cf. FC 21] It is in the bosom of the family that parents are "by word and example... the first heralds of the faith with regard to their children.
1657: It is here that the father of the family, the mother, children, and all members of the family exercise the priesthood of the baptized in a privileged way "by the reception of the sacraments, prayer and thanksgiving, the witness of a holy life, and self-denial and active charity." [LG 10] Thus
the home is the first school of Christian life and "a school for human enrichment."
What is the Result?
After your family embraces the daily family prayer time, you will begin to see the fruits of this effort. One young family had a 6-year-old boy who gathered the older children and parents into the room with Jesus to say the rosary every night. This is now a family tradition.
The home has more love, and the children often want to attend Adoration with Mom. The peace comes from spending time with Jesus.
Once you pray together, you will want to share your experience with others. Introduce them to the concept of intercessory prayer before each decade of the rosary.
